Alex and his brother Diego were born here in Malkia Park to our first wards from the Leo, Elza and Suria group. This lion family had not been castrated before arrival, so we had to wait until the females gave birth. We tried to leave the cubs with their parents, but, unfortunately, the mother lioness was not interested, so we took them at the last moment, already dehydrated. Therefore, they had to receive continuous care from our nurses. Alex and Diego lived in a group with Kevin and Kiara from a young age. However, in 2023 we moved Alex to Malkia (read Malkia’s story).
