After the tragic incident in Ranch near Žilina, the foster owner was looking for a replacement home for the lion and lioness – siblings Bella and Aslan.
He was looking for a good and kind home where they would have everything they needed.
The private zoo Malkia Park was the only facility in Slovakia that could take in these lions and save them from culling.
A lion rescue fundraiser was launched in December 2023, through which, thanks to the kindness of the public, SOME of the funds needed to rescue the lions from the ranch to Malkia Park have been raised.
In order to accommodate and care for them safely and respectfully, we need to reallocate existing lion wintering habitat.
The collection continues, where you can support the lions by any contribution to our account number of the civil association IBAN SK38 7500 0000 0040 2975 1842 in the note write PROTECTION OF LIONS.
Despite the fact that the funds have not yet been fully raised, we are the lion siblings of 04. 3. 2024 brought.
We introduced them to the public for the first time during a commented feeding, as well as officially completed the mandatory quarantine and acclimatization of the new lions, on Sunday 24. March 2024.
We believe that the lion siblings Bella and Aslan will also find a royal home in Malkia Park.
