The caracal lynx

Caracal caracal

Amy, Charlie, Mandy a Marc

Amy and Charlie didn’t have fun at the amusement park

Amy and Charlie came into our care after being abandoned by their mother in the captivity of an amusement park, they were still very young. Thanks to 24-hour nursing care, they’ve gotten used to us, but they’re still beasts that can hurt with their sharp claws. Caution is never enough.

As adults, they had two cubs, Marc and Mandy, with whom they now live together in the same paddock.

During afternoon weekend guided feedings, you can see them in their natural behavior, i.e. how they hunt for food during a high jump.

The caracal lynx is a long-legged, slender feline that lives in dry areas. Its fur is smooth, the color depends on the environment in which the caracal lives. It is mostly in shades from sandy to reddish brown. The fur is unusually thick to protect the animal from the cold at night. He has noticeable long bristles on his ears. They use their ears as a means of communication. Dropped ears mean a threat.
