Diesel came to us together with Kenzo and Chance from Poland from unsuitable conditions and are in our deposit since 6. 4. 2018.
In Poland, several animals have been confiscated by the government from a private person who kept them in unsuitable conditions (together with Diesel, we also have a spotted leopard Oscar in a depository in Malkia Park from Poland).
Since the age of these confiscated animals is unknown, we estimate that Daddy Kenzo may have been about 10 years old when he arrived.
Kenzo was diagnosed with severe bilateral arthrosis (degenerative disease) of the hip joints, which we noticed as soon as he arrived – he was walking heavily and limping.
In order to relieve his pain, he was given supportive treatment with joint nutrition and painkillers after consultation with the vets.
The last month of observation there was a weight loss despite the fact that he was papping, but the last week he got worse and we had to have him checked out which showed kidney failure.
Unfortunately, with such a diagnosis there is no help for the animal and due to the bad results from the urine and blood, euthanasia was recommended by the tigers owner and two vets (these tigers were only in the pound with us, we are not their owners, but we take care of them with love and the best we can).
KENZO will always remain in our hearts with that sweet expression on his face, he was a beautiful tiger (11. 2. 2021).
The same health condition as Kenza also affected our beloved Chance and she left us on the 28th. 11. 2022.
Kenzo was the bold one from the start, Chance, was the one who was the boldest of this trio of tigers. The most difficult is with Diesel, who is a “clenched bachelor”.
The cooperation with him is a bit better after all these years, but we still have a lot of work to do with Diesel.
